  This is what I am going to do.

  this sunday at 11.00am i am going to take a jw to a church service at st marks luthern church in yonkers ny.she is 28 years old.

  she was born and raised a jw.

  she has never been in a church in here life and is so brainwashed that she thinks saton lives inside.

  She told me that every time she looked a a worldy person that they know somthing about JW that she did not know.

  Here's another one, long ago, JWs weren't restricted in entering other Christian Churches, they even celebrated Christmas - who changed? Also, although I'm not a Catholic, kudos must be given by ALL Christian churches everywhere to the Catholics for being a good stewart and handing down the scriptures - was that not inspired by God (in other words, was there not a purpose in that?). "True" Christianity was certainly in the world long before Charles Russel brought his brand on to the scene.

  Are You Afraid Of Death?

  i'm not afraid at all.

  i'd like to experience a full life, and do the things i want to do before i die, but death itself just doesn't frighten me.. i was unconscious for several hours last night as i slept, and experiencing nothing feels absoluely fine.

  before i was born, i went through the same thing- nothing (for several billion years or more infact).

  turkey established gun control in 1911.. *from 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.. the sovied union established gun control in 1929.. *from 1929 to 1953 20 million political dissenters, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.. germany established gun control in 1938.. *from 1939 to 1945 13 million jews, catholics, gypsies, socialists, homosexuals, trade unionists, disabled and mentally ill .

  I'm for my own control of my own guns..... during the L.A. riots after the Rodney King fiasco those who were able to protect themselves (with guns) were not looted, mobbed, or harmed.... the police were too busy to protect us, we had to protect ourselves.... and that was for three days!

  one of the things that's got to be going through a lot of peoples' minds now is how one man with two handguns, that he had to reload time and time again, could go from classroom to classroom on the virginia tech campus without being stopped.

  My Granny (1902-1994)

  helncon's post on grieving made me think back about my granny.

  my granny was widowed and lived alone in kentucky in a 2 story house.. .

  she was raised and died a baptist, though she didnt attend church much once she was widowed.

  Very nice story.... the "real" simple life... how refreshing. Reminds me of my grandparent's stories when I was a kid - they too only used horses and wagons and if you gave your word, it was good as gold... it meant something. It would be interesting to know what our grandparents would think of today's world (I could see the eyes rolling now). Thanks for sharing....

  Remember.... everyone goes through peaks and valleys.... if you're in a valley right now, hold on tight, distract yourself (if you can) and know that "shortly" there's got to be an upswing to a peak. Everything is temporary.

  You don't have to pay for the "secret".... there are many websites that will take you through AFFIRMATIONS, some are very good.

  Anyone here have experience in Native American culture/worship?

  since leaving behind jw beliefs, i have been interested in learning other belief systems.

  i am really interested in native american beliefs as i have native blood in my background, and i feel more at peace and closer to god when i am in nature.

  from what i have read, it is not a set religion with rules and such, but more a cultural/community based faith.

  after managing a successful fade, the long thread started by nvrgnbk made me think a bit.

  up until then, i maintained a fairly hardline stance that the borg would need to d/f me if they really wanted me "out".

  but then, i began to consider a few things.

  Oh I don't know..... it's an "out-of-the-ordinary" letter... kind of like a professional advertising piece, the kind that makes you think. I believe there's a good chance of some "googling" of your questions.... (hehe)
